2nd February 2005
8 of TCP's members made the trip to Sandhurst Towers for the weekly tournie. We started slightly earlier with Pete phoning to say he would be late and to post and fold him.
With just 1,000 chips this week in a new format, you would have expected play to be cagey and tight. You'd have been wrong! It just meant people rebought more often!! As the blinds went up though, rebuys became less and less likely.
Kris fell foul of the late entrant Pete and exited the fray in eighth place. Pete turned up nearly an hour late and multiplied his stack with 3 all ins in 3 hands to be chip leader. What a player. His brownbacks where clearly intimidating Adam.
Then G (that's me!) called an all in with Phil and Emily and Em finished in seventh and Phil in sixth. I have to say I got a bit lucky as I called them with 8,9 off and married the 8s.
Steve finally got fed up of taking a couple of bad beats and exited 5th, before I calmly bubbled in fourth. Bloody A 10 off is all I'm saying (and bloody Pete! :-)).
Andy went out the next hand and finished third. He did very well to hang on for third, because he survived two all ins.
This left Pete & Adam heads up. Every hand was raised. Every hand was bluffed. It was like watching a panto. Back and forth, back and forth. Pete hit an Ace jack full house to double up and go chip leader. Then Adam came back with his standard 'bluff - raise, all in' and Pete finished second with Adam taking first the second week in a row and storming into first place in the league.
