The last game of the year and the match to see who would enter the New Year as Champion. After a couple of lion roars, I was delighted to walk home with the 70 nicker. The fact that I was playing for my drinks for New Years Eve may have something to do with my victory. I did groan though as I played Steve heads up for the game and believe me - playing Steve heads up is like banging your head against a brick wall. Only slower and more painful. Of everyone in the group Steve is the person I least like to see sitting across me heads up because I never have any idea what he has. He flat called one of my bets with A6 two pair allowing me to make trips with the 9s and really that allowed me to take it with a large chip advantage. We had battered back and forth for about an hour first though and I feel Steve may push at the top of the table this year.
My tactic of wearing a cap and covering my face had Adam so flustered that he folded a QJ against me when he matched the Q. My Q8 may have struggled had he called my All In! Sorry Adam!!
The new boy Andy's determination to buy in again with his fiver constantly on the table was never realised. I think he was trying to psyche us out, but he is good at going all in on the right hands and I think he added on at the freeze out an that was it??
Adam, clearly struggling without his reads on me fell down with a pair of bitches I believe. He went out and headed off with the consolation that his girlfriend was at home with no clothes on and a tub of lard.
Andy went next after struggling with quite frankly an awful run of cards. Em hit the road next as she hit that unlucky bubble. Kris was mainly responsible for this. On the bright side Em at least it wasn't Adam with pocket kings when he wasn't even there!
Left to Kris, Steve and me. The final three. Kris was playing very well and Steve you just can't read so I was not too optimistic. Heads up I'm the boy, getting there I ain't!!
I called Kris All in when he had trips. I was flush drawing and I hit it. Down to me and Steve.
I won and it was about time too!! This year I think the table is gonna look very different because both Adam and Steve are improving by the minute.
