In his own words

To be honest have been gambling most of my life in one shape or another.  I think looking back the main reason I started was I could easy get most of me brothers pocket money, even if there was a slight bit of cheating involved.  We progressed onto Chess and Backgammon, where the stakes gradually got higher as we got older.  Only really took up cards a few years ago, mainly online stuff with minor success.  But became increasingly bored with staring at a small screen into the wee hours of the morning.  Luckily my local pub clicked on to the poker phenomenon that is sweeping the country.  It was Texas Hold Em, with approximately 25 ? 40 players. God what a different playing real people.  To make matters worse by darling brother won the Tourney 3 times, which made me even more determined to learn the game. Though I have now won it twice.  Coming to get ya kid.  So I decided to look for a small local gang where I now live as the poker addiction had kicked in badly and I needed my weekly fix.  Low and behold I found the merry band called TC-Poker via the tinternet. This was over 3 months ago now and the rest is now history.  I feel I have gained some new found friends in the mad but interesting world of tc-poker. Realistically I still have loads to learn, my own downfall is that I never have a clue what anyone else has, which as you can imagine puts me at a disadvantage most of the time.  To end this short profile, I dedicate this short montage to my darling wife who allows me to dream that I am Gus Hanson and that one day I will win the ?World Series of Poker? with a 2 4 suited.  I have a dream.

What the others say about Baz

Lindz - Baz is wicked, a very good player and makes me laugh till my sides hurt. Now the game wouldn't be the same if he wasn't there. When the bad beats happen or me and him get put on a boring table we sneak out for a ciggie and he stands there gurning and taking the piss. He hides his play behind his humor so be careful if your in a hand with him!

G - A constant source of humour. He makes the games more fun and brings poker to life. Ironically with his chirpy attitude he is very serious when making decisions on his hands. A very good player, that has patience that is almost unmatchable. Is hard to make him backdown if he has decided that he is going on this hand. Expect to see him move up the table (IF he comes to more games) and his cheerful grin adorning either a major tournament winners board or milk carton (man seen stumbling through Woking high street with several bottles of vodka under each arm).

Steve - Where do I start? Comedy genius? Cheekier than Cheeky Monkey? Or cold, calculating, balls-of-steel Uber-Pro? That's the thing about Baz - you only ever know where you are with him when you're in really big trouble. And that's not just those that drink with the little bastad! The same applies to his poker. Who else could love 2s and 4s? Who else would borrow a fiver to rebuy, and then let you be the bubble?

Top tip: Tell him you haven't got any beer in and the offy's closed - it might just buy you enough time to blind him out while he disappears.

Phil - A raw comic genius, Baz should be made welcome by anyone, anytime. Certainly he will be loud, take over your house, and consume any drinks you might own, but he will also regale you with picaresque tales about shitting-competitions, the jungles of Bisley and other eye-opening topics.  A decent trade, I'm sure you will agree.  He can also play poker fairly well.  Something which always prompts me to wonder how good he could be sober.

Pete (slag) -

Andy - Military Fecker. I love him. Always holds A2 when a 345 flop comes down. What more can i say?

Dave - Baz's great strength is his patience. He can wait an hour or more before playing anything, just waiting for the right moment. In a couple of recent tourneys he has been really quiet and then has suddenly appeared out of nowhere to win a big pot or two. Once he has some chips though, the style changes and he is a force to be reckoned with. Don't be fooled by the Mr.Entertainment exterior; inside you'll find Mr.Calculation.

Marty - A character and a half. Where would we be without Baz?  Baz¡¦'s words of wisdom at the table make it all worth while! Even G would probably admit that those bad beats he keeps having are made more bearable by the antics of Baz. A good player with a wicked sense of humour. Just watch out for the 2/4 raise he loves to try on everyone. 9 out of 10 times he wins these uncontested! What a player

Craig - Yeah I guess he's alright. Pokerwise, well he's known from day 1 not to try and push me off a pot with a pair of bullets, but other than that an erratic genius (at times).  Love you Baz xxx.

Jesus - I thank Baz for my nickname, I probably should shoot him for it because my poker play doesn't live up to it. But he has given me something to aspire to. A great guy who welcomed me into his home on my 1st Phat Dog game and then watched me get nail to my Phat Dog cross with such pleasure and words of sympathy!

I walked the streets of Nazareth (with Jesus) 'Cannot remember what happened apart from that Jesus was out and we all helped to nail him back to the cross with a big BUBBLE stuck to his head. I heard Jesus mutters some words like 'Father where are tho' there was no reply.  I had seen a man at the top of his game fall and tumble to the floor, I thought this was not the right time to knock a man, for here was a man who had everything and left with nothing. Jesus we love you.

Del - This man is my nemesis!  His very presence makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.  He is the Antichrist, he is evil and he shows no mercy.  On the other hand he is one of the funniest players in the Phat Dogs line up and when Baz is in the mood he can easily destroy anyone who tries to beat him at this game.  A true gambler who wins.

Nick - What can you say. A true legend and the funniest guy I know in poker. The amount of cr*p that comes out of this blokes mouth is unbelievable.

Pete (new/doc) - Now I really have not played much against Baz so it's difficult to talk about his poker. He put me out in the first Phat Dog game and I'm still waiting for my revenge. He?s a real star-entertainer at the table (and the bar).
