In his own words

I had left a message on an internet Notice Board, looking for a game of Whist, which my wife Frances and I were very good at.  We both love to play cards but were not interested in winning a Joint of Pork or a Tin of Biscuits at the local Community Centre.

Anyway, a few months later I was approached by a sexy young lady named Lindsey Golightly who invited me to play with her, poker that is and the rest is History.

I do want everyone to know how I really got here, the truth is that I was really kidnapped from my home in Eastern Europe and brought here in chains and forced to work in the sex trade.

As you can see from the photo,  I was often forced to service old ladies of about 45 against my will, it was horrible.  Those memories will never leave me despite the free treatment I received on the NHS.

Now that I am safely in the hands of Phat Dogs my life has improved, but not my wallet.  My poker life has seen some success and many failures, so taking everything into account I will definitely be keeping up the day job.

What the other members say about Del

Lindz - Del is great fun and if he's in the mood will play any two cards. He hits miricle straights and its very funny to watch.

G - What can you say about Del?? I have all the time in the world for Del. His play is erratic to say the least. But a fatal mistake is to think 'He doesn't know what hes doing'. Trust me, he does. If Del is in a game, there is going to be lots of action and lots of rebuys. He plays the game in a great spirit and sometimes I wonder if he cares if he wins or loses because he always cheers the underdog even against himself!! I cannot wait to see Del vs some professional players - fireworks predicted!!

Steve - Del Boy - the rebuy king, inveterate gambler, and the source of more amazement than Jesus (no, not the Phat Dog, that fishmonger / baker bloke). Many have tried to work out what his hole cards are, but none succeed until they're shown. As well as being a great guy who's up for a laugh, Del re-defines recklessness. He's taken it to an art form. Nobody has a clue what he's playing, and we all love him for the variety that brings to our games.

Top tip: Sorry, no tip available. Put a blindfold on Del and he'll still play his cards.

Phil - Del is an entertaining man.  Having him on your table is great for two reasons: firstly he will ensure, with his financially reckless love of the re-buy, that there's plenty of chips to be won, and secondly you can always guarantee some mind-expanding tale.  Perhaps it will be about the trials of running a flower shop, or perhaps his past-life in the army, or perhaps the difficulty of getting decent water, or perhaps his career as a horse-racing tipster, or perhaps the eligibility (or lack of it) of his daughter, or ... anyway, you get the idea.

Pete (slag) -

Baz - Fucking hell Del boy, my hero, plays like a mad man, would go all in on jack shit, spend a fortune and not think twice about it... love the rolls Royce that he drives around in as well because Del did make his millions just like the TV geezer... Dam he makes me laugh, though I have noticed how much he sweats all the time...J

Love ya Del, look forward to playing you many times in the future…

Andy - Del-Boys game has improved ten fold over the last 6 months. When he joined us his strategy was just to throw money at the game. But a little restraint and patience has paid dividends for Del. A no fear attitude and wanting to play for the fun of the game rather than the winning makes Del an excellent choice for any Phatdogs game.

Dave - A unique style of play. He'll raise small and call almost anything, but often accumulates a huge chip stack. If he can improve his play once he has a huge stack then we'll all be in trouble.

Marty - Hilarious is the first word that comes to mind. Del is a great character at the table and is a gambler through and through. He's extremely unpredictable and has many times built some great pots for the rest of us to win! ;-)   A must have player at the table for the entertainment factor. Watch his chip stack though, for if youˇ¦re careful and play your cards well, those chips could be in front of you soon. Don't be fooled though, Del knows no fear and has on many occasions cleaned the lot of us out with some brilliant trapping play.

Jesus - Possible the most unpredicatable play of the bunch! A smashing chap with a warm smile for everyone. Playing cards with Del is always entertaining if not for the cards for the conversation, more stories than a cockney barrow boy!!!

Craig - Ace bloke. As for the poker, certainly unpredictable, and to be honest i hate being in a pot with him without the virtual nuts as he is never afraid to take it to the river!

Nick - Del is great fun to play with. Despite his maniac tendencies he’s very tricky to play against. You just never know what he’s got as he’ll play the same with bott0m pair, gutshot draw or top set. Great stories too. Kind of like Gus Hansen with a hernia.

Pete (new/doc) - He's never seen two cards he didn't like. Infuriating to play against. If he ever learns to be more selective about his cards and learns to raise he will be a real force. He's a source of great one-liners and good company.
