And risk it on a board of kings and queens
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And always keep your losing hand unseen;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your odds long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the will which says to them: "Raise on";

If you can play with twos and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither trips nor up-down draws can hurt you;
If all men count their outs, but none too much;
If you can fill the stare-down minute
With sixty seconds' worth of poker face;
Yours is the pot and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll finish in first place.
