What the other members say about Nick
Lindz - Nick is a solid player and very similar to Phil and Dave in his play. His song when he joined the Phat Dogs was fantastic :-)
G - Another tight player whose play changes dramatically the further he gets in tournaments. Wrote the Phat Dogs Theme Tune - I Wanna Be A Phat Dog. He's also had some great results this year. Not sure he's too keen on the Harry Potter moniker, but hey - that's poker!!
Steve - Harry Potter is probably the tightest player of all the Dogs. For the first few months, we had the impression that pocket As or Ks were the only hands he played before any heads up. That's probably not accurate, but it's pretty difficult to tell as Nick's cards are seen about as often as a virgin in an Essex nightclub.
Top tip: Following his recent song-writing success, I'd say pretending to be a groupie could work, but I think I'll let others try that theory first.
Phil - Nick plays a lot of poker. Am not sure if I've ever seen him in his house when he's not playing online. Well, that's not quite true, there was that time where we had a game at his, so he wasn't online during that, but you get my point. As you might imagine this means he's quite good at the game. Of all of us he's the one I can most easily see turning pro. Not because he's the best, necessarily, just the most dedicated/obsessed. Note, I mean this in a good way, as I am obsessed with the game myself.
Pete (slag) -
Baz - The baby face assassin of the Phat Dogs, fuck I only think he plays this game for the fun of it whilst in between films, that?s Harry fucks Potter and not the children film. A good player without question but I do think his idol is Ping Pong who he frequently asks, dam ping pong what was the right move on this hand... Love ya HP
Andy - I would say that if anyone plays like Phil, it would be Nick. Two very similar players, who are both well read and educated in the theory of poker. Nick know how to mix up his game so that he doesn't become too predictable and this only improves his game even more. I'm sure nick will finish in the top 3 this year.
Dave - Nick has had a lot of good results in large online tourneys, and is avery solid player with exceptional comeback ability from a poor position. He's often in or around the top places in Phat Dogs games and I expect himto do well in the league this year.
Marty - A rock within the dogs. His patience knows no bounds. This is the kind of player that could play for 24 hours straight without going on tilt. His temperament for the game is perfect for someone looking to make a living from it. No stupid plays here. Nick has all the qualities of a great poker player. In my opinion he's one of the top 3 players within the phat dogs. Respect! To boot he's a decent guy and a musician underneath that calm cool exterior.
Craig - Geezer! Can't believe he's older than me, think he must have a lifetimes supply of Oil of Olay. Pokerwise, I'm pretty sure he's a rock, but not totally sure as I dont get into that many pots with him!
Jesus - A studious player who can't be under estimated. Online gaming seems to be most profitable for him however, I wouldn't go so far as to say he was an internet geek!
Del -
Pete (new/doc) - He's another good player who?s not afraid to push when he gets the chance. He loves his Aces. It sounds like he's really successful playing tournaments online -unlike me - so we appear to have different approaches to our poker. I've not yet forgiven him for calling my all-in at Didcot with A7offsuit and making a full house!
